Advisory Notes: April 1st, 2020

(All Students) This Wednesday, April 8, from 3:45 to 4:30 Student Government is planning a virtual Town Hall meeting to discuss progress and concerns with our shift to virtual classes. We strongly recommend at least one person from each advisory to attend and communicate the thoughts of your classmates; however, anyone and everyone are welcome to attend. We especially want to discuss your feelings surrounding the fairness, equitability, sustainability, and privacy of online classes. So if you have thoughts or opinions please come and share! The Zoom link and code is below: https://zoom.us/j/371840199?pwd=YXdVRmJXWG82T1dtTVNmR2hwYXliUT09  Meeting ID: 371 840 199 Password: 036320 We hope to see you all there!  Also, in order to brainstorm beforehand and have a record of everyone’s thoughts (or if you can’t make it) please fill out this quick Google Form in Advisory: https://forms.gle/b8JwUHr4us4iQ4JR6  Wishing everyone happiness and health,  Student Government ____________________________________________________________________ (All Students) Good afternoon BHSECQ Community, I volunteer with a program over the weekend near my house. The program is called Seeds in the Middle and they usually work with middle school students in Brownsville and Nostrand on ways to make their lifestyle healthier and to bring more options to students and their families in Brooklyn. Parents, HS students, and community volunteers in NYC come together to collect donations, create community gardens, and promote healthy living in the community. The founder and head of volunteers of the non- profit, Nancie, is trying to gauge the need of fresh food delivery during this crisis, and was hoping I could share this resource with anyone in the school who may be in need. She’ll then reach out when she receives the solicitation with more information. https://bit.ly/getfreshfood Thank you, Layla Ralekhetho  ______________________________________________________________________________
